Compare ETFs in South Africa

These are exchange-traded funds, not a ranking. A fund fee is not the full cost of buying and holding the ETF, and past results are not shown as a forecast.

Investments can rise or fall in value. Fees, available products and account conditions vary by provider. Information is not personalised investment advice. Information checked 28 October 2026.

Before you compare

Each card is one fund, not a ranking. Total expense ratios and tracking differences were not copied because the published notes say the factsheets still need to be read. A lower fee on one line would not make a fund the cheapest once trading costs are included.

Compare providers

Each card uses the product published for this page. A missing fee is left as a prompt to check the provider. It is not shown as zero.

10 of 10 products, in name order. A fee that was not checked is not shown as a number, and nothing is sorted by return or by cheapest.

Compare selected products

Choose up to three on this page. Fee lines are not added together into one cost, and nothing is ranked.

No products selected.

Estimate the cost of investing

Type your own growth rate and annual fees. Product cards do not fill these fields, because most tariffs on this site are not a single annual percentage.

Your illustration

The growth rate and the fees are the ones you type. A platform percentage and a fund percentage are added once. Do not enter both a TER and a TIC. Brokerage, advice and foreign-exchange costs are extra unless you have already included them.

Who holds the investment

A platform administers the account. A fund manager runs the portfolio. A custodian or nominee may hold the securities. Those can be different companies. This page does not confirm the custody contract for each brand.

A unit trust means you hold units in a collective investment scheme. An ETF is also a fund: the units are listed, and they are not the same as owning each underlying share in your own name. A JSE share record is the company, not a broker.

Investments are not government-guaranteed. CODI covers qualifying bank deposits, not unit trusts, ETFs, shares or gold coins. If a provider fails, the outcome depends on the legal structure and the assets, not on a general promise from this site.

Tax on investments

Dividends tax on a local dividend is 20% in the tax file used on this site. An individual's capital gain is included at 40% after the annual exclusion, and the maximum effective rate stored for an individual is 18%. Interest, foreign dividends and REIT distributions can be taxed differently. A tax-free investment account has its own contribution limits. This is not a calculation of your tax.

Regulation

An FSCA licence, where one applies, is not a promise of returns and it is not the same category for every firm. No FSP number is printed on these cards. Check the legal entity on the FSCA register before you invest. A share-dealing platform is not automatically an adviser, and a fund manager is not automatically the company that holds your account.

How WiT Money compares these products

Each page keeps its own products. An ETF is not described as a unit trust account, and a gold-mining share is not described as a coin. Empty fees stay blank.

Nothing is sorted as cheapest, best or highest return. The order is alphabetical. A listed name is not a recommendation. No provider is paying for a placement. The button opens the provider's site, or the JSE record where that is the verified link.
